This is only the fourth release of ‘The Redhead’ since 2006. Part of our ‘Icon Series’, this is the best we can do each year with Barossan Shiraz. This superb vineyard grows at 500m on the back of Menglers Hill within the Barossa Ranges, Eden Valley. Elevation, shallow top soil, quartz, ironstone and yellow/orange clays all create greater texture, complexity and above all finesse. This is a wine that will reward with cellaring and patience. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
From 70yo vines, open-fermented with 30% whole bunches, matured in French oak (40% new). The wine has wonderful drive, taking focus and balance on board for the voyage, sailing through fields of purple and black fruits.
