Exuberant aromas of apricot, ginger, manuka honey and citrus fruits. he palate is fresh and linear with more than a hint of decadence, but also it comes with a clean minerality towards the finish which is further enhanced by both fruit tannins and natural carbon dioxide retained from the fermentation creating the ultimate drinking experience. Drink now or drink later, either way it’s epic.
The colour is deep, dark amber, the wine is viscous in the glass. It looks and smells like a sweet botrytis wine. Cooked apricots, honey and fig-jam aromas, botrytis is obvious. Underneath a generous serving of sweetness there is a lot of bitter tannin. A full-bodied, very rich, botrytised wine of considerable sweetness and grip. It needs food: possibly smell washed-rind cheeses? A very unusual style of gris. It's really quite delicious, but the buyer needs to know they're not getting a conventional gris!
