Domaine du Pélican, based in Montigny-les-Arsures, near Arbois, Jura, was started in 2012 by Guillaume d’Angerville, of Domaine Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay, Burgundy, and François Duvivier, régisseur at Domaine Marquis d’Angerville. Domaine du Pélican farms high quality terroirs located in and around the city of Arbois, with the aim to create a new, high quality domaine based in this magnificent region, with strong winemaking traditions. The wines are vinified, barrelled and bottled locally, on the estate.
The latest of a red blend they have been making from the beginning, the 2018 Arbois Trois Cépages is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau and 5% Poulsard. This has a ripe nose, with notes of cherries and orange peel and a round palate.
