The Tasmanian climate produces Riesling's of innate drive, searing acidity and on the right site, impeccable aromatics. Planted on the rocky slopes of the Gala vineyard this, without a doubt ticks all of these boxes. Powerfully aromatic, full bodied, layers of acid and a lees-driven palate that comfortably cradles the acid and sweetness beautifully. If you thought you had to go to Germany to experience world-class Riesling think again.
Light to mid-straw-yellow colour, with a very pleasant aroma of lemon pith and honey, gardenia too, while the palate is deliciously sweet and charmingly fruity. The acidity is cleansing and fresh but also balanced, the textural effect seamless. A lovely wine.

"This is superb, demonstrating just how important the balance between sweetness and acidity - brilliant and transparent - is for wine styles such as this. A feather-light dervish scuttling lime cordial, ginger, lemon drop and exotica about the mouth. A long thread of flavour, dousing out sweetness, is curtailed and stretched long across the palate by the acidity. Very Germanic. There are few domestic Rieslings of this calibre, sweet or otherwise"
