The K Block Merlot has garnered a strong following since it's first release in 2008. The low yielding older vines produced beautiful, balanced fruit with true varietal expression. The tannin structure found in the clone and the block gave palate definition to the opulent fruit characters.
As impressive as it is immensely satisfying thanks to its mix of blackcurrants, baking spices, dried herbs and florals plus its structure. This is a merlot with substance. It has depth, powdery tannins, some grip though with an appealing Averna-bitterness to the finish.
