The colour is cherry red and quite deep. Lez reveals aromas of small red fruits, such as gooseberry and a slight touch of strawberry. The palate all in elegance and refinement brings a juicy, almost bloody side. The tannins present are silky. With great length and finesse on the finish, this wine represents the place where it was born: a limestone outcrop with little soil depth, exposed to the south, on a limestone terroir which suits it perfectly; haute couture.
You could easily mistake this for a Burgundy Grand Cru from a top producer, thanks to the stunning interplay of very pure sour cherries, subtle spicy and earthy notes, great concentration, very fine tannins and a long finish that’s got a ton of chalky power, yet remains so precise and polished. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
