In keeping with Clyde Park winemaking, this is no simple gris. Look closer. Note the restrained yet attractive scent of baked apple, glacé pear, some just-baked biscuit complexity and white nectarine. Next, the drinker moves into a smooth, rolling textural palate which is not only fresh but deep into all manner of complex tastes. Definitely tingles the tastebuds.

Vines planted '96 on the flats of the vineyard in volcanic clay. Lightly pressed, a portion briefly matured in old hogsheads. Its pale pink colour heralds a warm suffusion of honeysuckle and poached pear on the bouquet, joined on the palate by multi-spices A striking pinot gris that's a real wine. Made by Robin Brockett.
