Estate biodynamic vineyard in the Derwent Valley; 250 dozen. The refinement that Steve Lubiana has brought to his chardonnay over recent vintages is something to behold. He's achieved the holy grail of elegance without sacrificing definition, concentration, persistence or endurance. Pristine white fruits are ever-so-gently propelled by high-class French oak. Crystalline acidity illuminates a finish of pinpoint accuracy, undeterred line and magnificent persistence.

100% estate-grown, single-vineyard Chardonnay from a mix of two terroirs: grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel. 100% biodynamic, certified. Fruit is hand picked and sorted by hand on our vibrating table. Wild yeast ferment, 8-10 months in in new & old French oak barrels. Steve and Monique Lubiana view this as the most layered & complex of the three Chardonnays they make. The ‘Estate’ is a classic example of a robust but beautifully balanced cool-climate wine. It has all the elements of a great Chardonnay present - fruit, oak, acid, creamy texture & complexity, but no element overpowers the other. A wonderful wine to enjoy now, or watch it grow and develop over the years in the bottle.
