2017 Weingut Keller Westhofen Kirchspiel Riesling Auslese, Rheinhessen

The Westhofen Riesling Auslese 2017 is a cuvee of the two fantastic vineyards of Morstein and Abtserde. We put it in the decanter and let it breathe for 48 hours to give it some sort of “speed aging” – and the result was fresh, crisp and cool. Unbelievable! The nose is quite complex with exotic elements, especially unripe pineapple and passion fruit, there is a very cool minerality notes from the limestone that reminds of some mint, beautiful herbs, also some orange blossom. Super light on the palate, great fruits mix of exotic notes, grapefruit and oranges, the acidity is so fresh and cool. It’s a pleasure to have this wine in the glass!
