Ruby with a suggestion of orange in the glass, the nose is a ramble of dark fruit and vanilla—think ripe cherries, blueberries and berry compote on brioche — with a delightful baked rhubarby note to boot. Spiced and savoury on the palate (oaky, smoky hints of cured meat, cinnamon and nutmeg), coupled with silky tannins and vivid acidity make this a delightfully easy-drinking wine.
Made from Pinot Noir fruit grown at the bottom of Moorilla’s St MattHias block, this is picked early to maintain natural vibrancy and 50% whole berry fermented. The plush silky mouthfeel is a perfect match for the strawberry, cranberry, red cherry and black berry flavours. It’s well rounded with liquorice and spice notes from 8 months oak maturation.
