65% Corvina, 15% Corvinone + 10% Rondinella + 10% other varieties Ripasso is the traditional method where the Valpolicella wine is re-macereted on the pomace from the dried Amarone grapes. The wine is aged in 500/1000 lt oak barrels for 18 months.
A blend of 65% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella and 10% other mixed grapes. The fruit is harvested from a vineyard parcel in Bastia, the same location used to make Fattori's Amarone della Valpolicella. This selection of grapes, however, is destined to the Ripasso method, which sees a second fermentation on the skins of the dried grapes used to make Amarone. Therefore, you get some of the inky blackness and rich intensity of Amarone, all delivered in a more informal and accessible style.
