It's a joy to see a 4yo shiraz being released from one of the country's unsung shiraz regions, Coonawarra. It's a wake-up call, if one was needed, to the excitement that the region and the grape can deliver. A youthful four yo built to last a long time with tight, close-knitted black fruits, high spice and toasted vanilla oak. Coonawarra earth, a mineral clarity of the soil, resides throughout. A beauty in the making.

Produced in very limited quantities, Zema Estate’s Family Selection Shiraz represents the ‘cream of the crop’.The flagbearer (along with its Cabernet Sauvignon sibling) for Zema Estate. As well as a selection from the best shiraz block, it receives significant new oak. It has exceptional intensity and drive, yet is no more than medium-bodied, spicy/savoury/peppery notes giving both texture and flavour complexity, and thereby extending its length.
