Aged 2 years in French oak barrels. ‘The stars really lined up in 2019 for chardonnay, pinot and shiraz!’ exclaims Claudio Radenti, who made his favourite chardonnay in some years. A wonderful, enticing and seamless amalgam of beautiful lemon, white peach and grapefruit, supported delightfully by marzipan and almond oak. Malic acid is beautifully integrated and perfectly ripe, upholding tension and precision, culminating in fantastic, seamless line and length. Gorgeous.

Geoff and Susan Bull were early viticultural pioneers on the East Coast of Tasmania, establishing Freycinet Vineyard in 1979. It is situated adjacent to the picturesque Freycinet Peninsula, (latitude 42 degrees), which is named in honour of the French explorer Louis de Freycinet, who chartered the region in 1802.

The 15 hectare vineyard is proudly family owned and the wines are 100% grown, produced and bottled on our estate. The site is a warm sheltered one within the truly cool Tasmanian climate. The vineyards are meticulously hand tended to grow moderate yields of fully ripe healthy fruit. The rustic winery houses 'state of the art' equipment to ensure wine quality is not lost. The wines are produced with great care, dedication and passion - they are a delicious liquid expression of the unique place on earth, the varieties and the season.

The extra complexity and textures built into Freycinet Chardonnay makes it an ideal partner with a wide range of light to medium flavoured fine food. This wine is ideal with tasty flavours of succulent roast pork or chicken wine rosemary and garlic, Italian veal dishes and stronger-flavoured seafood dishes such as crayfish mornay. It is superb with freshly-shucked oysters.

This wine is tightly crafted and combines purity, power and persistence. The delicate aroma features citrus and melon fruits with notes of hazelnut and spice. The palate is pristine, fresh and vibrant revealing ripe rockmelon, white peach, grapefruit and lime peel flavours strung together with shimmering acidity and spicy oak. A wonderful balance of luxurious texture and tension signal a long future ahead. A favourite match with Tasmanian crayfish, this wine is equally suited to roast chicken and pork.
