‘This is unquestionably the finest non-vintage Brut I have recently tasted’
Robert Parker Junior
As the largest grower-producer in Champagne, Jacquart is completely tied to it's own vineyards. The wine is Chardonnay dominant, creating a refreshing, aperitif style. It also means that Champagne Jacquart can afford the luxury of three years bottle ageing on lees, compared to the minimum requirement of 18 months. Longer ageing produces a more elegant mouth-feel.
Champagne Jacquart was founded in 1964 in Reims, Champagne by a group of 18 grapegrowers. This group now consists of approximately 1800 growers who collectively own close to 2500 hectares (6177 acres) of vineyards. The brand name 'Mosaique' is to honor the patchwork of areas and growers from which Jacquart source their grapes.
All the more reason to try it! Jacquart Brut Mosaique is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The bubbles hiding within the bottle are incredibly soft and elegant. Toast, yeast, warm morning bread are apparent on the nose, while flavours develop and change on so many different levels, grapefruit rich, ripe orchard fruit with a touch of minerality to clean up. After swallowing, this champagne will just sit happily tickling your palate for a good while after.
Light to mid-straw-yellow colour with a brassy tint. The bouquet is toasty and mellow, complex and showing some positive development. The palate is also rich and soft and mellow, with more maturity than expected, and a very dry savouriness that lingers. Lip-smacking crisp dryness. A good food wine.”
