Produced from 1975-planted dry-grown vines. Tightly wound, medium- to fuller-weight cabernet with cassis, blackcurrant, woody spices, black olive and licorice characters in spades. Evocative perfume delivers all that dark fruit, toasty, clove spice, leafy herb and anise personality, an appealing intro to the similarly set flavours and the accompanying roll of fine, lacy, succulent tannins and brambly herb and spice lingering on. Very even, graceful flow, reserved and elegant in its course with excellent persistence of flavour and a general sense of finesse. An almost refreshing feel overall, too. Very classy.

Dark, intense purple hues. Aromas of bay leaf, black fruits and some violet spice. The palate is powerful with fine tannin structure carried by more black fruit with graphite freshness. The wine will reward cellaring.
