Gavi, made exclusively from the Cortese grape which has a heritage dating back to the 1600s, was Italy's first white wine to gain international repute and to this day is still considered one of the top-ranking Italian whites.
Its reknown for ts bone-dry character and crisp, flinty and fresh acidity. The bouquet is particularly floral, offering delicate aromas reminiscent of white flowers, lemons, green apples and honeydew. It also often shows hints of almonds on the finish.
Sourced exclusively from hillside vineyards, in very select locations of the Gavi area, from families who have been producing grapes for Pio Cesare for generations.
Fermentation at low temperature in stainless steel tanks. Aged in stainless steel tanks with extensive lees contact.
Fresh, clean and spicy aromas. Salty, with ripe fruit and rich, complex flavor. Great ageing potential.
