Mata-Au (the Maori name for the Clutha River) is a blend of fruit from Chard Farm’s four estate vineyards. New oak has been reduced to just 20% to boost flavour purity. Elegant Pinot Noir with appealing purity and subtle power. Red and black cherry with a suggestion of spice supported by nutty oak. Good length of flavour. Linear, accessible wine.
Tantalisingly pure pinot noir with fresh cherry, red rose petal, and sweet plum flavours together with a seasoning of spice and anise. A silken-textured wine that delvers power with great subtlety

Medium-depth purple/red colour, with a superbly ripe, rich, complex bouquet of intense spices and dark cherry, with a char-oak overlay. The palate has abundant tannins, which are just on the right side of firm, some oaky influences asserting themselves, while the overall feel of the wine is excellent. Very good now; even better in a year I'll wager.
