Interestingly this is quite aromatically similar to the nose of the Bonnes Mares except that it is markedly spicier. There is excellent delineation to the notably powerful and intense medium-bodied flavors that exhibit a certain muscularity on the compact, serious and slightly strict finish. This will not be a good candidate for early consumption.

Bursting with expressive aromas of raspberries, candied peel, woodsmoke and forest floor, Jean-Marie Fourrier's 2017 Echézeaux Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, ample and expansive, with broad shoulders, a fleshy core of fruit and firm but fine tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish.
