A much fresher and more complex array of red currant, plum, violet, spice and leather aromas precedes sleek and unusually refined medium weight flavors that offer both good minerality and delineation if slightly less concentration on the attractively textured and markedly firm finish. This is really quite good and certainly built-to-age.

The 2017 Corton-Grèves has a pleasant bouquet of wild strawberry, cranberry leaf and light sea cave aromas, all gradually unfurling in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and quite stocky for a Corton, offering chewy tannin and a grippy, slightly peppery finish with traces of tobacco lingering on the aftertaste. This will require three or four years in bottle. Drink 2022-2038
