Robert Heywood and his team have implemented wide-sweeping reform in the vintage, blending and tiraging of Taltarni and their efforts are visible for the first time, right from the beginning of the portfolio. This is a blend that celebrates the crunch of cool climate fruit, married harmoniously to the complexity and texture of lees age. Lemon, apple and strawberry hull of elegant poise linger long on the finish, backed by the subtle toasty complexity of maturity. For everything it offers, this cuvée represents fantastic value for money.
57% chardonnay, 42% pinot, 1% meunier; reserve wine aged in old French oak barrels; disgorged 24/11/2017; 10.3g/l dosage; April/May 2018 release
Straw in colour, this wine has a refined and delicate bead from almost 4 years on tirage lees, which has also resulted in persistent and creamy mousse on the palate. Soft aromas of honeysuckle are complimented with elegant toasty aromas of brioche and roasted nuts from the time spent on yeast lees. A bright natural, citrus pith acidity that lingers on the finish is balanced perfectly with a soft, creamy texture that fills the palate..
