Interestingly, this is aromatically less obviously 2015 in character than any of the preceding wines with its almost Chablis-like aromas of quinine water, iodine, mineral reduction and apple confit. By contrast, the broad-shouldered flavors are ultra-rich with so much dry extract that the mid-palate is borderline chewy while the mildly warm finish just goes on and on. This is imposingly powerful and massively constituted and should age for years. With that said, I find this lavishly opulent effort to be somewhat less stylish than usual and would compare it to the 2009.
