The 2014 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is silky, supple and open-knit, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so. Sweet floral and spice notes add lovely shades of nuance. Although not especially complex, the 2014 is tasty and easy to drink. This is an especially gracious Barolo.

Congratulations are due because this is deep yet fresh and rather complex wine with some really ripe flavors for a 2014 Barolo. This has an excellent harmony of richness and tannins. The finish long and focused. Drink now.

This estate in La Morra has a reputation for producing easygoing, supple wines at moderate prices. Its 2014 seems to have benefitted from any lack of ambition - the raspberry-scented nose is ripe but reticent and the palate is concentrated yet shows a light touch; it's nimble but has firm tannins on the mid-palate. There's no toughness, instead just drive and persistence. Long and stylish. Drinking Window 2019 - 2028

Since 1841, generations of the Costamagna family have dedicated their lives to Barolo production. The long story began in the XIX century with Francesco Costamagna, carried on in the 1960s by Claudia Ferraresi and Giorgio Locatelli, and for the last 30 years by their son Alessandro. Based in La Morra, Rocche dell’Annunziata: Rocche Costamagna consists of 14 hectares of vineyards owned by the family for generations, with 5 of those hectares in the sub-zone named Rocche dell’Annunziata, one of the renowned Barolo Crus.
