Grown on the Willowlake Vineyard in the Upper Yarra. Vine age: 38 years. 25% new oak. 20% went through mlf. Roast chicken & a few glasses of this. Life is grand. Complex, well-fruited, immaculately presented, long; this wine has everything in excellent order. Stonefruit, flint, metal & spice. It feels, tastes & finishes in beautiful form.

From the Upper Yarra Gladysdale Vineyard, home to the Bird for 10 years. Developing nicely, adding complexity to the citrussy acidity of the wine, the length of the palate the badge honouring the Upper Yarra Valley.

Bright, medium yellow colour, with a fresh, bright almond meal and creamy lees bouquet. Intense flavour and great acid line, tight and tense and long finishing. A brilliant chardonnay, youthful and with a future, but already complex.
