Terre is San Leonardo's junior sibling, from the same terroir. Mostly Cabernet and Merlot, aged in large casks, it shows ripe plum fruit, spice and leather with San Leonardo's classic elegance and 'mountain freshness', the palate smooth and well rounded.
The 2015 Terre di San Leonardo gives us a sneak peek of the fruit intensity and exuberance that is associated with this lovely vintage. This is an accessible and food-friendly blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère selected from across the San Leonardo estate. This wine offers immediate tones of black cherry, spice and blackberry. This is a very fruit-driven vintage that can be consumed within the next 5 years.

Very deep ruby. Herbs, tar and spices complicate ripe blue and black fruit aromas on the nose. Then more austere but classic in its cool-climate Trentino style of Cabernet Sauvignon, cedar, graphite and blueberry flavors. The finish is long and flinty, but this tastes a little lean currently; cellaring will help it show better.
