The inaugural release from Pooley's highest site, facing northeast. The fruit is whole-bunch pressed to stainless steel, selected yeast and on fine lees for 6 months. It's a dynamo of a wine. Powerful with complex flavours, not overt citrus, although there's a flourish of lemony freshness. Expect quince paste, beeswax, hoya floral aromas and savoury nuances. Fabulous energy across the palate are at once textural yet finely tuned.

Very light-yellow hue, with a flowery nose with poached peach and nectarine overtones. The palate is delicate, refined and fresh, with some residual bready yeast overtones and a rich, concentrated palate flavour. It's youthful and bright and finishes clean and dry but not austere. Very long aftertaste. Of the three 2019 Pooley rieslings, this is the best right now.10 APR 2020

White flowers and crushed stones with hints of guava. This is powerful stuff, there's an intensity of fruit that is not often seen in riesling. Not heavy though, whilst there are ample textural components it's bound with such high-tension acid that it remains airy and fresh. Deserves food and attention31 MAR 2020 Drink 2020–2035
