The 2019 GDF Tasmania Nouveau Shiraz is sourced from a young vineyard in Tasmania's Upper Derwent Valley. Fermented wild, unfiltered and mini- mal sulphur added prior to bottling.
The Glaetzer family of winemakers has roots in the Barossa Valley dating back to 1888.
In 2005 the quest for crafting the best cool climate pinot noir, shiraz and riesling inspired the formation of the Glaetzer-Dixon Family company in Tasmania. Nick Glaetzer hand-makes wine from grapes grown in the cool, fresh climate of Tasmania, drawing on his experience and passion, fuelled by working numerous vintages around Australia, France and Germany.
In 2011 Nick won the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for his 2010 Mon Père Shiraz and was also named “Young Winemaker of the Year” by the Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine.
