Vines planted '80, 1.2 x 1m spacing; wild yeast-fermented, French oak matured.
66% whole bunches, 34% destemmed, wild yeast open-fermented, 22 days on skins, foot-stomped, matured in French oak (67% new) for 18 months.
Deep, clear colour; a pocket rocket, built to travel far and live long. Black cherry, plum and spice all come through strongly after the lengthy elevage. Its tiny production (69 dozen, sold in 6-packs) is a shame, but it enabled James Lance to calculate an average 91g bunch weight! Its best is years away.
