Château Reynon, located in Beguey in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, was purchased in 1958 by Florence Dubourdieu's father, Jacques David; his daughter and son in law, Denis Dubourdieu, took over the vineyard in 1976. Thanks to their hard work, Château Reynon is today one of the most renown Premières Côtes de Bordeaux estate.
Chateau Reynon Rouge has a deep color and subdued aromas with liquorice black-currant and smoky nuances; the flavors are velvety, elegant and powerful. They have an exceptional style that privileges the freshness of the fruit concentrated by the "noble rot", strength, balance and subtlety of the flavors.
The 2019 Reynon, the Cadillac Côte de Bordeaux owned by the Dubourdieu family, has upfront blackberry, mulberry, camphor and blood orange scents on the intense nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious with a gorgeous, velvety smooth finish. What a superb Reynon.
More successful for me in 2019 than it was in 2018 this has great structure, some concentrated blackcurrant fruits and good acidity giving a fleshy but refreshing finish. No need to wait, a good choice for value in the vintage.Drinking Window 2022 - 2030
