They are doing such a great job at this estate, and this is an absolutely delicious wine. It is just dripping with apricot, nectarine, white truffle and ginger, with a zing of lemon zest taking things up a notch through the finish. Fleshy yet flinty, silky texture, brilliant. Will age for decades too. Drinking Window 2022 - 2045

Pale lemon-gold colored, the 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey drifts effortlessly out of the glass with graceful notes of tarte au citron, key lime pie, candied ginger and honeycomb plus hints of toasted almonds, orange blossom and wild fungi. Rich, spicy and oh-so-decadent in the mouth, the palate delivers lots of sweet, unctuous layers with a wonderful oiliness to the texture, finishing long with a refreshing lift.

This is a refined, subtle Sauternes with dried lemons, peaches and hints of cooked apples. Some spices, too. Medium to full body and medium-sweet with a creamy-textured finish. Very refined.

The 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey Blanc has a refreshing nose with scents of sea spray and dew-speckled Granny Smith apples. The palate is well balanced with touches of yellow plum and lemon rind on the entry, quite saline and certainly spicy thanks to a dab of ginger towards the finish. Good potential, though not the most complex.
