'A statuesque cabernet brimful of bold, curranty fruit and with all the complexity and structure you could hope for. This is an absolute beauty. Tobacco, cloves, smoky oak and a range of ripe, dark berried fruit. When Coonawarra cabernet is good, it's exceptional.'

This has greater depth and layers than its brethren across the range, loaded with the effect of 20 months in French oak (33% new). This said, it also boasts a lift in concentration and with that, alcohol. Coffee grind-mocha-bitter chocolate tannins expand across the palate, encasing sage, scrub, currant and olive notes. Time will temper this, but right now it is a force across the gums.
