Unlike any other wine in Elderton range, this is a wine of immense proportion and is super-rich, dark and brooding. It is already a wine of complexity and has remarkable balance and structure that underpin the full-bodied berry, mocha, spice and cedar flavours and is certain to cellar well into the long term.
The 2017 Fifteen Shiraz—to be released next year—is embryonic, showcasing blueberry and blackberry fruit and a veneer of French oak. It's full-bodied, concentrated and rich, densely packed with layers of slowly unfolding flavor, notes of cracked pepper and licorice and hints of mocha on the long finish. The fruit is from a parcel of vines planted in 1915 in the Greenock subregion of Barossa.
