Silvaner, on the right site, in the right hands, is no slouch as a white grape. Sweet lemon, brine and flinty smells, kind of neutral in some respects, but flavour and intensity is certainly there. It’s chalky and dry, bursting acidity, steely and faintly floral. Finish is all crunch, lemon zest and mouth-watering freshness.
