A wonderful bouquet showing great aromas of wild flowers, with some herbaceous notes as well as ripe tropical fruits. Full bodied on the palate with a steely minerality and high acidity, it displays very concentrated and intense fruit notes. Long length.
The 2018 Chablis Vaucoupins 1er Cru emerges from a tiny parcel measuring 0.50 hectares planted in 1949. Silky, rich and resonant on the palate, the Vaucoupins is impeccably balanced, even in the early going. Apricot, white flowers, graphite, mint and marzipan all flesh out in this super-expressive, radiant Chablis. Brisk mineral accents grace the exquisite finish. The 2018 is remarkably finessed for this site, where the wines can be quite rustic.
