“A sense of style and sureness of instinct regarding all aspects of viticulture … such as any Mosel riesling grower could be happy to have achieved in a lifetime.”
The 2018 Dhroner Hofberg Riesling Auslese was picked at 97° and 98° Oechsle between middle and late October and then fermented in stainless steel. The wine is coolish, flinty, still reductive but precise and sexy, with a concentrated, dense and pretty sweetish palate with good grip and salty piquancy. A promising 2018 that needs 10 years to gain finesse and more talents. Tasted in April 2019.
