Craggy Range Te Muna Road Pinot Noir, Martinborough 2017 is a dream. I gave this a mark of 98 in a recent tasting of the New World Single Vineyard Pinots for Decanter Magazine.
The balance between vavoury and luscious fruit with perfect acidity, gives a nearly perfect silky Pinot.

Fruit-forward and dark, with hints of bacon. Great style of savoury fruit, with great acidity; this is focused, lingering and a beauty from New Zealand. A complete wine.

Decanter Magazine's New World Single-Vineyard Pinot Noir Panel tasting, 30 Oct 2019

Fragrant, elegant pinot noir with floral, violet, red rose, dark cherry, plum, anise, spice and classy oak flavours. A wine with power delivered with consummate subtlety. A seductively ethereal texture and lingering finish complete the picture. 02 APR 2020 Drink 2020–2025

Founded in 1993, Craggy Range is known for its wines from both Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay and Te Mune Road in Martinborough. The Muna Road vineyard is separated into two distinctt terraces, with Pinot Noir drown on the rocky, clay-infused soils of the upper terrace. Grapes asre fermented in a combination of French oak cuves and open-top stainles steel tanks using indigenous yeast. The wine is aged in French oak barriques, of which about 25% are new.
