Only the iconoclastic Tommo could tell you this wine is made each year from the leftover barrels from single vineyard wines that didn't quite fit the style of the winery. But that's not all, he adds ‘These are called the Lips and Arseholes and we blend them for this wine'. He then goes on to win a gold medal in the hotly contested '17 shiraz class at the Hunter Valley Wine Show.

The ‘lips n assholes’ as per Thommo himself; the wine is the ‘leftovers’ but that’s a loose term for the wines that are excellent and singled out to not fit into the rest of the singular wines and to make a singular, seasonal blend.
Dark, savoury, brooding feel, earthiness and clove, dusty notes in perfume, plummy and kirsch characters. Powerful and deep in flavour, chewy tannins, has an upfront lushness the rolls into a gummy-earthy pucker then a slightly out of synch lemony tang. It’s got potential, a wine for depth and decay in the most benign way, and therefore is excellent but needs time.
