Rich and deeply plummy. There’s a ruby velvet glow at the core of this wine. Cacao husks and raspberry jam, dark cherries and black pepermint. Extraordinary concentration and depth and richness. And yet exquisitely graceful. Fine-boned acidity, but with the weight and sumptuousness of silk brocade. Symphonic. Builds with operatic beauty and drama. This wine soars in your bones.

The 2018 Morgon Côte du Py Cuvée Passerelle 577 is showing brilliantly, opening in the glass with aromas of cassis, cherries and plums mingled with smoked meats, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's the most complete and multidimensional of Godard's wines, built around ample reserves of powdery tannin and succulent acids.
