The Steven Vineyard was planted on red volcanic soil in '68, and rapidly gained a reputation it will never lose. Mike De Iuliis is a talented winemaker with a very good palate and hasn't missed the opportunity with this wine, its slippery, medium-bodied palate full of bright blackberry and dark cherry fruit, and a faint touch of fresh Hunter Valley dirt.
