A deep and vibrant crimsony red. Reminiscent of a delicious black forest cake, this has some very attractive 'chocolatey' aromas and hints of sweet vanilla along with the dense dark plum and complex berry fruits that are typical of Cabernet Sauvignon. Our 'Book Ends' is beautifully balanced with its rich fruit and superb texture. Its blackberry fruit flavours and dark chocolate characters are complexed by hints of sweet smokiness from the French oak. The good depth of flavour is well balanced by a gentle acidity and the slightly chewy, gently drying tannins contribute to its great persistence and palate length.
Deep, youthful red/purple colour. The bouquet is quite toasty from oak-maturation, with a tinge of development adding some welcome mellowness. A bacon-like note. The palate is full-bodied and voluminous, with a backing of fine but persistent tannins that linger through the aftertaste. There's a lovely core of fruit sweetness.
