This Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon blend has a slightly Old World take on this classically Australian style. The plush structure and refinement of red blends matured for long periods in oak (30 months in this case), have been a mainstay of this wine.
The fruit has been sourced from Langhorne Creek (Cabernet Sauvignon) and McLaren Vale (Shiraz) with vines aged from 16 to 80 years. A small percentage of Pinot Noir, Grenache, Malbec and Mourvedre has been added. Matured 30 months in 100% French oak (40% new) barrels on fine lees and given minimal handling.
Inky crimson red in colour. An intense aroma of vibrant forest fruits accompanied by perfume, cardamom and subtle herbal notes. Plush and softly textured on the palate with blueberry and cassis fruits intermingled with dark earth and mocha flavours. The persistent finish is supported by a refreshing acid backbone and soft, pliant tannins. Best 2020 to 2030.
