Bright dark straw-yellow. Herb and apple butter aromas on the nose. Enters sweet and fruity, then turns a little austere and tough, offering simple flavors of pear and apple.
Closes medium-long and with a bittersweet note. About 95% of the grapes used to make this wine are bought. Very dry, almost Pinot Grigio-like in style (this has less than 1 g/l residual sugar), but maybe just a touch more residual sugar (say, another 1 or 2 g/L) might have helped round it out a little. I should point out that this improved considerably with aeration. Drink 2020-2025.
