This terroir offers a fruity and very elegant of the Pinot Noir varietal. It displays a deep ruby colour and remarkably pure notes of red and black fruits. The palate is lively and spicy with a refreshing touch of menthol. This wine evolves beautifully in the bottle although its generous character makes it a pleasure to drink in its youth. Serve with duck breast, fillet of beef, slow roast lamb, veal shank with caramelised carrots.
Clos de l'Ecu is a 2.37ha monopole, purchased from Jaboulet-Vercherre in 2003, which forms the upper portion of l’Ecu, just underneath the woods at the top. The site ripened fruit well in 2019, producing a lovely deep colour, dark fruit on the nose and a slightly savoury note. On the palate, it is tannic, structured and almost a bit rustic. The sweet fruit comes through on the finish. Drinking Window 2021 - 2039
