2020 is the fourth release of Garcon, a pure Grenache from old vine vineyards in the Barossa Valley, and is our celebration of the this variety from its spiritual home in Australia.
The three vineyards that provided the fruit for Garcon in 2017 are located in the extreme west (Moppa), north (Ebeneezer) and east (Bethany) of the Barossa and are 55, 90 and 85 years of age respectively. All are unirrigated and hand picked.
Bright, deep garnet.
Displays delicate and perfumed aromatics of ripe raspberry, cherry, red currant, rose petal, lilly and discrete white pepper and musk notes. Polished and feminine.
Youthful, mid-weight palate, strong red currant, spice and red plum skin flavours. Plum skin acids and fine sandy tannins drive the finish. A classically proportioned juvenile Grenache.
