A classic representation of Sauvignon Blanc from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, bursting with aromatic tropical fruit characters found in this warmer sub region. During the summer months, dry nor-westerly winds and cool overnight temperatures influence the vineyard micro-climate in the Wairau Valley producing pungent Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
The wine displays powerful aromas of blackcurrant, boxwood and grapefruit. The palate has an enticing array of ripe tropical fruits mixed with dried herbs such as rosemary, finishing with a fresh zesty acidity.
The 2020 Single Vineyard Taylors Pass Sauvignon Blanc has lifted aromatics of fresh garden peas and blackcurrants mingled with herbs such as coriander. On the palate are concentrated flavours of jalapeño and lemongrass, with a punchy finish of lime zest and a hint of gunflint. A key point of interest in this wine is the chalky texture reminiscent of wet river stones.
Bright, tangy Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, lime zest, green capsicum and gooseberry flavours, plus a suggestion of struck flint reductive character. An appealingly complex and concentrated wine.
