This tough land of rocky limestone is predominately toiled by humble farmers and a few brave winemakers. Marko’s vines are have never seen chemicals and the wines are as natural as can be, with a few days on skins and no fining or filtration. Malvasia has distinctive floral notes and ripe stone fruit, the palate brimming with energy and finishing with a briny tang.
Marko's Malvasija is a benchmark for the variety, expertly balancing the variety's perfumed aromatics with a herbal, savoury note. We had the pleasure of tasting this wine back ten years and it shows a wonderful freshness and clarity. The nose displays classic notes of apricot and candied oranges with wild herbs and ginger, the palate honey-rich and citrus-refreshing at the same time.
