Deep, dark red colour with a tint of purple still remaining, the bubbles forming a persistent mousse on the surface. The bouquet is very terrestrial: fresh-turned earth, ironstone and graphite, complex and savoury, with a tickle of sweetness, happily understated but just adding enough to give the wine extra charm and drinkability, while maintaining excellent balance. A superb wine, intense and lingering, harmonious and satisfying. A top example of the style. It's in a good place at eight years, with freshness as well as some bottle-developed complexity.05 DEC 2021 Drink 2021–2028

#2 of 131 2013 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
There's volume and there's softness but most of all there's a wide array of flavours. This ramps up the complexity a step or three. Mushroom, sweet plum, earth, spice and leather flavours combine to beautiful effect. Throughout it remains fresh. Upper echelon in its style.

There’s a good chance ‘Sparkling Shiraz’ could be the answer to the age old question…“what do we drink with breakfast?”.
Clear crimson-purple; while made using traditional method, the wordy back label doesn't disclose either the date of tirage nor that of disgorgement; it is a gloriously high-toned sparkling shiraz, its spice and licorice flavours highlighted by the secondary fermentation, resulting in elegance and intensity.
