Quite remarkably for a shiraz at this level, it didn't see any time in oak. It tastes of pure plum, redcurrant, aniseed and mint, bare whispers of both milk chocolate and florals adding to what can only be described as a seductive picture. Pure shiraz velvet.
A McLaren Vale Scarce Earth selection. Deep colour with a purple rim. The bouquet is chocolate and cocoa powder, the wine full-bodied and very soft, with accessibility thanks to supple, smooth texture and easygoing structure. A real 'crowd pleaser'.27 JUL 2016 Drink 2017–2034
