Bleasdale’s founder Frank Potts, bequeathed the majority of his business to his sixth son, Frank Potts II. Frank Potts II played an important role in Bleasdale’s history, being responsible for building its famed red gum press. The Second Innings Malbec label depicts Frank Potts II taking part in a family game of cricket on the Bleasdale property.
Malbec is rarely seen as a varietal wine but at Bleasdale and in Langhorne Creek it stands on its own two feet and performs well enough to earn its stripes. This wine shows vibrant primary fruit flavours of plums, red berries and pepper spice. Finishing soft and round with velvety smooth tannins.Matured 9 months new (10%) and seasoned French oak hogsheads and puncheons.
