The Cantina del Pino 2017 Barbaresco reveals a beautifully light garnet color in the glass. The wine shows extra intensity in terms of its aromas with wild rose, lilac and cherry. That combination of floral and fruity doesn't completely define the bouquet because you also get a good dose of crushed mineral, smoke and spice. Like most of the wines I tasted from this vintage, this release of 13,000 bottles shows extra power and tightness in terms of its tannins. Give it a little extra bottle time.

Medium to deep red colour with a tinge of brick in the rim. The bouquet is metallic and seems to have a touch of volatile acidity, but nothing that shows on the palate. Aromas of hot stones and dried rose-petals. The wine is taut and firm, very savoury and dry with masses of tannins, it has deep-set richness and fleshy texture. Very good indeed. Approachable now and will reward ageing.
Made of 100 % Nebbiolo grapes grown in the hills overlooking Barbaresco, this wine delivers a delicate perfume reminiscent of dark cherry and black pepper with a hint of tobacco from a fine cigar. Elegant and fully ripe, it has a great structure and balance. Aged for two years in the oak and one year in the bottle, this wine is as good now as it will be aged for many years.
