This is another stellar vintage of the Grosset Piccadilly chardonnay. At present, there are some cedary, cashewy notes that will become less overt over the next twelve months and allow the stone fruit flavours – white peach and honeydew melon – to shine even more brightly. This chardonnay is powerful, intense, multi-layered and yet has underlying restraint. Crisp and vibrant to finish. Drink now or cellar for 10 years.
This is smokin'. It has moreish sulphides at play, but it's the bringing together and syncing of all its elements that makes this spot-on. White nectarines, citrus, creamed honey and very spicy, all offset by mouth-watering acidity. It's layered, concentrated and flatteringly fine.
